This week calls for rain. Oh how I love the rain. I always have. Growing up in AZ, and then also spending part of my childhood in Saudi Arabia, I mostly grew up dry. My favorite thing was when the monsoon season would come at the end of the hot hot summer. It’s still warm, but the thunderstorms where awesome and kind of gave the illusion of coolness. I really think I like it more than anyone. I even moved to the NorthWest (Washington State) in January of my Senior year (can you imagine moving your senior year). That was a hard time for me. I made one good friend that whole time and she didn’t have any of my classes or even my lunch. I was the girl who sat alone at lunch every day. Wow, I haven’t thought about that in a long time. Anyhow, I never got sick of the rain, and it does always rain there. I would go for drives in the rain in my little red Fiat for hours and listen to REM (a little dramatic I know). I think I had the top down only one time the whole 5 months I lived there. That had to be the best part of living there. Everywhere you look its was green and beautiful.
I always feel like curling up on the couch with a good book when it is raining… too bad life doesn’t stop when it rains. I think I need a “MOMS rainy day schedule”. (maybe after the dishes get done… laundry too).
So today I am thankful for a whole week of rain. I think we are even getting some lightning tonight. Maybe I’ll head out and shoot a little in the rain. I thought I’d post neat rain images that I have found. Just a few…
