The Polar Express

This year we went with a few families from our ward to the Polar Express. We all stayed in the Hotel right there in Williams, AZ. I feel so sorry for anyone who had the misfortune of being anywhere near our rooms. We stayed up really late playing games. We “tried” to be quiet, really we did, but there is no way to keep especially 10 year old boys quiet in a hotel. At one point they were playing football in the hall. My kids loved the train. I was so worried about my 3 year old. I don’t think there has ever been or ever will be a kid more terrified of Santa Clause. I didn’t know how she would handle it. When Santa got on the train and began handing kids their bells, something magical happened. She whispered to me, “I’m not scared now.” It was so darling. When Santa finally got to her she reached up to give him a hug. He was wonderful. It was a miracle. We really had such a fun time.
