The last thing my kids hear from me every day.

I’m one of those people that thinks about this all the time. I think “if something happened to me, what would my kids remember”. Or if something happened to my husband, what was the last thing I said. Those songs like, “If tomorrow never comes” by Garth Brooks, and “Live like you were dying” by Tim McGraw. So everyday I hug and kiss my kids. I tell them how special they are. I tell them that I’m so lucky to be their mom. Then as they are walking away we have a little tradition. I shout, “Do you stand for truth?” then they shout “YES”. Then I say, “Do you stand for right?” then they say “YES”. Then we sing “The Lord can depend on me”.  I always feel a little better when I shut the door and send them off to other adults to take care of my most precious little people. Maybe it doesn’t help them at all…. but I know it helps me.

October 19, 2009 - 10:18 pm Ashley - I know. Horrible!! it was the first day of school. In the summer time we are so bad about getting our kids to bed early, therefore we somewhat sleep in too. The first week of school was a little hard for us to get into the swing of things again. I thought the fanta might help a little... jk... Really that was suppose to be for his lunch. I don't think it made it into the lunch box at all. ooops.
