The other day when it was raining, Rocky was across the street playing with two neighbor boys (both quite a bit older then him). They had made sail boats and were having boat races down the gutter. He was really frustrated because he wanted a boat too. It was almost dark and time for dinner so I tried to suffice him with a stick for a boat. No, he wanted one like theirs and he was really sad. We went inside and I told Chad what had happened. He felt really sorry for Rock. Rock really doesn’t have any friends on our street to play with. I’m sure he was so excited to have someone to play with but he couldn’t really join in the way he wanted to. The next day, as dads do, Chad saved the day and made a popcycle boat with Rock. One problem… no rain. I didn’t realize what was going on until I noticed Rock sitting on the curb so sad. He didn’t think about there being no water today. Then he jumped up and got this really bright look on his face. “BUT WE HAVE A HOSE!!” he said. He had a blast racing that boat down the gutter. Unfortunately, he was alone this time, but on the bright side he got to shout (every time), “I WIN!”
