So thankful for modern medicine…

…actually glasses, which do technically count as medicine. I have two children that need them. They both just got new glasses the other day. My daughters where broken in 3 places. I had them taped up with black electrical tape for about 5 days. She was so funny about it and really a good sport. My son absolutely loves his. He keeps taking them off and looking at them, and then putting them back on and saying, “I wiwy wuv my gwasses!” It’s so cute. He also has to patch one of his eyes for 4 hours each day. My husband came home with a pirate patch for him which I thought he’d never leave on. He loves it and wears it great. He is such a good kid. Both my kids really need them. My daughter flat can’t see without them. Sunday morning when they were broken and before I was able to get them patched up she was in hysterics because she couldn’t wear them. She will just sit with her hands over her eyes. Where would she be with out that wonderful little invention. Thank you  Salvino D’Armateis!! (who is credited with inventing the first wearable eye glasses around 1284 in Italy).  I looked it up and the earliest historical reference to magnification actually dates back to ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs in the 8th century BC. Pretty Cool!

Do you think She was ready for a new pair yet?
