yes, I think this was my 4th trip to the homestead this Summer, and no, not my last. I totally need to get up there more next summer - don’t you think? Just can’t get enough.
I never thought I was afraid of heights. Truthfully I thought people that were afraid were kind of sissy’s. Oh no, not anymore thanks to Greens Peak. If you ever find yourself in the White Mountains of AZ you need to make your way to Greens Peak, there is a tower you can climb where there is a full time forest ranger who lives (yes lives) up there. She is really interesting and will tell you everything about the white mountains. Unfortunately, I was so freaked out about being so high I don’t remember what she said. I now can say I think I’m afraid of heights, and I too am a sissy.

At the base of our homestead there is a mountain called Siera Triego. We took all of our kids up there including some friends who came with us. That is the first time that our little ones made the hike. I’s a pretty hard hike for a 3 year old. He sure was a trooper… It’s really hard to ride on dad’s shoulders all the way up and moms shoulders all the way down! The view at the top is breath taking. Hmm… makes me want to sing a Miley Cyrus song…. “Its the climb”
For some reason the mountain air makes you let your kids do crazy things. Like push a huge tube up a big mountain and jump inside… only to be thrown out on both sides as it rolls (very fast) down. They love it. Every time at least one person is crying, but they all want to do in again.
